Process

If you are wondering what making stained glass art involves, here is a brief description of the process as shown by stained glass artist, Karen Wegienek.  Every piece starts with a basic concept that is translated into pieces of glass which are then assembled using one of the three methods illustrated here:  copper foil, lead or kiln-formed (fused) glass.

WHAT COMES NEXT?

Once the piece has been designed, cut and laid out, it is assembled in one of three methods illustrated below:  copper foil, lead or fused glass.  Each method has it’s own set of advantages and challenges.  And that’s part of the fun.
